Homeownership Resource Center

CCLT’s Homeownership Resource Center (HRC) opened in June 2004 as a one-of-a-kind service in Clackamas County. The HRC provides a centralized location for the educational opportunities CCLT provides for people who want to become successful homeowners. CCLT’s current educational offerings include free information sessions on the CCLT Homeownership Program, Homebuyer Education workshops, and credit counseling. Other special trainings and events are also held at the HRC.

The HRC is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and also by appointment. We invite you to stop by the HRC, which is located in the CCLT office at 2302 SE Willard Street, on the south side of Milwaukie High School. The HRC is open to all current homeowners in Clackamas County and to others interested in becoming a homeowner.

As the HRC grows, CCLT’s range of services will expand to include home repair and maintenance classes, financial literacy training and other specialized training, all in one location. The HRC will also offer access to computer-based budgeting tools, home repair literature, and other useful resources as funding becomes available.

CCLT is forming a member-based Homeowner Services Committee that will be charged with designing the full scope of services provided by the HRC. Additional features the committee may decide to include would be a tool lending library, seed exchange, photocopy area and “how to” video library. Please contact us if you are interested in serving on this committee.

CCLT’s commitment to sustainability is woven throughout the planning and implementation of the HRC. To promote economic sustainability, we encourage participants to become financially smart and careful with their financial resources. Empowering people to engage in “Do It Yourself” maintenance and repair will help homeowners take more cost-effective approaches to managing their homes. Home maintenance, operations and repair information will emphasize energy-efficient approaches to operating a “green” home. We plan to draw upon volunteer teachers to their share skills and knowledge with participants. Let us know if you’d like to volunteer!
